Hey there, welcome to my Digital Garden!
What's a "digital garden"?
The gist is to "cultivate" the seeds of ideas that I come across into a tree that will bear fruit in the future.
Gardening, because you want to cultivate your ideas out in the open under the sun so people can look at what you've been up to.
It's transparency and generosity at the same time. It's sharing without any agenda. It's like watching an artist work from conceptualizing things to their final form. But just like any work of art, you won't be able to fully grasp the idea behind a piece just yet while the artist is still working on it. The artist couldn't be bothered to explain it. He just shows you where he puts his hands and then he works.
A digital garden is an evolving notebook. A sketchbook of unfinished drawings waiting for its final form - not waisted nor cramped inside a desk drawer but exhibited to the public as is.
As a content creator and knowledge worker, I have this tendency to feel overwhelmed and overburdened by ideas popping in my head. There's also this mounting pressure to continuously create and ship things to the public. This digital garden will hopefully help me to create conscientiously. It's a low-pressure commitment where I can allow myself to explore different ideas and act on them right away without necessarily fully committing to developing them.
Partitions of My Garden
Seeds?
Most of the entries on this side of the garden are not well-explained nor well-presented. I jot down ideas that I want to explore and collect them as seeds. Once I start working on implementing an idea (seed) I will move it to the next section - Plant. Most of the seeds I will be collecting are related to my seven agendas. To be specific:
- Life
- Productivity and Optimal Performance
- Learning
- Lifehacks
- Self-experiments
- Self-Optimization
- Health, Fitness, and Wellness
- Building relationships, Partnerships, and networks
- Money: Personal Finance, Investing, Wealth
- Spirituality
Plant?
This is my initial attempt to implement or act on the ideas that I have. The goal is to ship a minimum viable output then grow the plant from there. I might produce content documenting different plants but for ease of maintaining the garden, I will write summarized updates here.
Tree?
This is the stage where the plants I cultivate start to grow really big. I will move plants here that have shown some "significant growth." I don't have any metrics to define "significant growth" yet, but I would say it should at least show some potential contribution to my goals.
Fruit?
This side of the garden focuses on the result and outcome I got from planting seeds and cultivating them into healthy trees. Some plants might not reach this stage at all, but I'm ok adding a conclusion note about them here.
Why You Should Visit My Garden
I'm an idea generator. It's both a boon and a bane. I will be collecting lots of seeds for sure. Most of these seeds I probably would not be able to plant myself. Plant it instead. I'm happy to provide you with the information you need so you can implement it yourself. All of my new seeds will be emailed via this newsletter - Le Mon Show Insider. I designed this newsletter to not overwhelm you with information. It's formatted in a way where you not only get the gist of an idea but also the instructional side to implement it. Execution is key. You can access the content in a membership portal using Gumroad.
Feel free to reach out if you have a seed you want me to explore! I'm very open to suggestions. In the meanwhile, subscribe to Le Mon Show Insider.
